Join WPLS library staff members at our branch libraries in Clinton, Cordell
Thomas, Seiling, and Weatherford for a night dedicated to
the man with the lightning scar on
February 7th & 28th.
Some stories define our childhood, endure our adolescence, and become dear old friends into our adulthood. They stay with us not because they were merely great books, but rather worlds that we yearn to revisit and characters we miss when we are away. Hogwarts was home to wizards, witches, muggles, pure bloods, half bloods, and also to us readers. It still endures because our dreams and our desire for our own owl-delivered letter has not lessened over time. New generations are being introduced to the Boy Who Lived by those of us who began our journey with Harry on the Hogwarts Express when we were but eleven.
We will, together, celebrate those things that unite us: our courage to stand up for what we believe in; our curiosity and limitless imaginations that refuse to accept a world without wonder and magic; our determination to face a challenge, however insurmountable, head on and give it a saucy wink; and finally our ability to know with certainty that, even in the darkest times, there is always hope and truth and light.
When we glance back over the pages of our lives, we hold tight to those things that truly matter. Time does not weaken, rather it emboldens our hearts to relive the stories and remember the people that we hold so dear; the stories, the people, they never leave; they remain with us… ALWAYS.
