Kathy Atchley began her career with Western Plains Library System on Feb. 2, 2002. She was hired by former WPLS director and founder Dee Ann Ray. Over the next few years, Atchley held a variety of jobs within WPLS, including ILL librarian, programs coordinator, branch librarian, and finally, small branch coordinator.
Kathy was raised in Clinton and married Bryan Atchley in June of 1992. They have two children and one granddaughter. Kathy received the degree of Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education in May of 1996 from SWOSU. In May of 2016, she received her Master’s in Library and Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma.
In her spare time, Atchley’s hobbies include raising Australian Shepherds, going to her daughter’s many sporting events and traveling.
